Glock G34 with X300 Light

Here is an example of our custom work.  This G34 with the X300 light draws smoothly from the holster while providing good retention with no real fore-aft movement of the pistol in the holster.  We are working to ramp our manufacturing of popular models, such as the TLR-1S on G17, which we expect to make available in the store soon.  In the mean time, you are welcome to contact us at products@werkz.com for quotes on custom work.

Three Days With Chris Costa

I’ll post a full range report, but I can say that I had a great 3 days in Handgun Employment 1 with Chris Costa in Boise.  I learned a lot and my equipment performed near flawlessly.  My holsters and mag pouches worked great, and I even had a chance to loan some equipment to Chris.  More pictures and full report soon.

I do want to thank Chris for a great class, and Dave at Reliance Arms for hosting at a great facility.  I cannot wait to do it again!

Custom Mag Pouches

I made up some custom dual mag pouches for STI 2011 high cap mags this weekend.  The pouches work very well, holding the magazines solidly but allowing them to be removed quickly and easily.  These were pressed using a custom made dual mag pouch press.

A few product additions

We have been working in the background to expand our product line. The most recent three additions into our store include the Springfield Operator 5″ railed 1911 (it may or may not fit other models of railed 1911s), the Smith & Wesson M&P 9mm/40s&w, and the 3″ Taurus Judge (which may only fit the 3″ model perfectly).  We have unfinished products for a bunch of other models that will show up in the store soon.

IDPA Qualification of Werkz Holsters

We have been asked a few times whether Werkz holsters qualify for IDPA use.  In short, we believe so, and at least one competitor has provided positive feedback.  According to the IDPA website, “Practical concealed carry type holsters are stipulated for IDPA use.”  Since our holsters are made exactly for concealed carry, this seems to fit that rule.  Further, most of the website discussions regarding kydex holsters in IDPA are quite favorable.

While we have not competed with our holster in IDPA, we have competed with our holster in IPSC and believe it to be legal in IDPA competition.

Another Addition to the Hechler & Koch Holsters

We are pleased to announce that we completed a number of HK P30 holsters and they’re ready to ship.  In addition to a combination of our excellent retention and finish work, these holsters are the first to feature our brand on the outside.  If you’re looking for an in-stock, stylish, capable, and adjustable cant holster (molded with straight drop), we have these ready for you!

Upcoming Holsters

We have just gotten a batch of blue guns in on which to mold more types of holsters.  If we don’t have what you want, feel free to email.  Also, if you want something that is currently out of stock, feel free to contact via the contact page.

  • Hechler & Koch:  P2000SK
  • S&W:  M&P 9/40
  • S&W:  M&P 45
  • Colt 1911 Commander
  • Springfield 1911 Operator (with rail)
  • Springfield XDM 9/40
  • Glock 26/27

We look forward to making up a bunch of holsters for the above pistols so when you wish to order, what you need will be in stock.

Holsters with Built-In Cant

The holsters I stock are normally molded “straight drop” which means that the barrel of the pistol is straight up and down.  Moving the belt loop attachments can allow for some degree of canting the holster, but only a few degrees.  However, it is possible to built cant into the molding of the holster.

For instance, I completed a Glock 21 holster today with about 25 degrees of cant.  Canting a holster forward helps reduce the buttstock imprint when you wear your holster behind your center line.  It also may be simply what you prefer.  Either way, we can meet your needs.
